Presentation of the CO2Formare Project in EGETICA

The Cluster participates in the LIFE + CO2FORMARE project in a consortium formed by Iberdrola Generación, which leads the project, Iberdrola Ingeniería, Idesa Fabrication, the Water Technology Center (CETAQUA), Nalco Española and the OX-CTA Water Treatment Company.

The project aims to promote the protection of the environment with the efficient use of CO2 produced in thermal power plants and thus replace the chlorinated products used to combat macrofouling.

The LIFE + CO2FORMARE Project has been present at the Fair of Energies and the Environment in a stand where the leaflets have been distributed, the poster of the project has been displayed and those responsible have responded to the questions raised by the numerous public that has shown interest in the project.

In addition, the first day of the Fair has taken place a presentation day, in which Sergio Edo, from Nalco Española, has participated, who has explained the effects of CO2 on the species that cause macrofouling; José Manuel Serra, researcher of the ITQ-CSIC and of the Spanish Technological Platform of CO2, who has focused his exhibition on the storage and uses of CO2 and, finally, Alberto Hervías and Carlos Padilla, of Iberdrola, have presented so much the global project that leads the company, as the techniques available for the extraction and capture of CO2, emphasizing those that are being used in this project.
