The Cluster of Energy of the Valencia Region warns that the elimination of the Cofrentes nuclear power plant “would have very negative consequences for the supply given that at present there is not enough renewable energy capacity installed to cover the needs”.
This is what the association says in a statement issued on Tuesday, a week after knowing that the parties that support the Valencian Government will present this week in the Cortes an initiative to urge the central executive to proceed with the closure and dismantling of the facility in March of 2021, date on which the current period of extension of operation ends.
